About Me!

Hi there! I’m Savanna (but my friends call me Savvy).

I was born & raised in New Orleans and moved to Denver, Colorado almost a decade ago with my dog in search of new adventure. My biggest passions (other than traveling) are food, writing, reading, and live music.

I’ve always had the travel bug (thanks to Anthony Bourdain) and traveled across much of the United States growing up, but I actually didn’t take my first international trip until I was 28 years old. After that first international trip (to Iceland), I was hooked and haven’t missed a year of traveling internationally since.

Amongst my friends, I’ve always been the planner when it comes to traveling. I’m the one with 100 tabs open, searching for the best reviewed restaurants, reading blogs, updating the google doc, and sending the Venmo requests.

One of my biggest passions is guiding people towards values-based traveling. This means budgeting ahead of time and spending money on what matters most to YOU, while saving on things that are less important. This varies based on each person (or group) and is a personal decision!

For example, I’m a huge foodie and I try to eat at one Michelin-starred restaurant on each international trip that I take, which as many of you know typically is on the pricier side. However, I would by NO means consider myself a luxury traveler (not even close). I fly economy 99% of the time, generally use points for hotels or Airbnbs, ride public transit, and try to find free activities whenever possible. I spend money on what is most important to ME personally (or the group I’m traveling with) and budget everywhere else.

If you have any questions, I’m available via email at wanderingsavvyblog@gmail.com. I’d love to help you plan your next trip!
